Competition in the airline industry can be only good for the consumer. Travellers should take advantage of discounted airline tickets many airlines are offering. Airline ticket wars are a good thing for travellers and not so good for the airlines. Every now and then airlines offer cheap airline ticket promotion with the aim of promoting customer loyalty to their airline.

I am afraid that the only loyalty they achieve is for that period of the promotion. When the airline tickets reverts back to standard pricing, guess where all that loyalty goes? ...their competitors, offering an even lower priced airline tickets.

Too much competition in the airline industry can even see major airline companies fold. If major airline companies fold its not a good thing for the consumer. It gives monopoly to its former competitors and this can result in high airline tickets. For now the ball is in the travellers court and so it should be.
